To use Axiom, sign up at axiom.trade with email, Google or Phantom, save the recovery phrase it shows you, deposit SOL to your Axiom wallet, set MEV protection to Secure, then paste a token's contract address and buy. This guide follows Axiom's official docs step by step, as checked on September 26, 2026.

Risk notice: Crypto trading is high risk and memecoins can go to zero in minutes. Trading bots use hot wallets. This page is not financial advice; only trade what you can afford to lose.

Not sure Axiom fits you? Read our Axiom review (it scores 9.1/10) or compare Axiom vs Photon and GMGN vs Axiom. We did not trade on Axiom for this guide; each step comes from the linked docs.

Before you start

  • Go to the real site. Type axiom.trade yourself or use a saved bookmark. Clone sites are a common way terminal users lose funds.
  • Pick a budget. Axiom is a trading app and a hot wallet. Deposit only what you would accept losing.
  • Referral discount. Axiom's referral docs give referred users "a 10% discount on trading fees", applied automatically. Our Axiom link is an affiliate referral link, so the discount applies if you sign up through it.

Step 1: Choose a sign-up method

Axiom's sign-up page lists three options: email, Google, or Phantom. With email, you enter a one-time code sent to your inbox and then create a password.

Use a unique password and turn on two-factor authentication for the email or Google account you sign in with. Whoever controls that login can control your Axiom account.

Step 2: Save your recovery phrase

During onboarding, Axiom shows a recovery phrase (seed phrase) for your wallet. The docs are blunt: "Never ever share your Secret Recovery Phrase with anyone!" You can view it again later in your settings.

Axiom also recommends importing that phrase into a standard wallet "like Phantom, Rabby, Solflare, etc.", so that "you always have direct access to your funds under any circumstances." That is your backup if Axiom is ever unavailable.

Write the phrase down offline. Don't store it in a screenshot, a cloud note or a chat.

Step 3: Fund the wallet

Per the sign-up docs, you can "Deposit SOL directly into the wallet shown or buy SOL through our partner Coinbase". Axiom's FAQ says the Coinbase route allows purchases of up to $500 a week without KYC.

Keep a little extra SOL for network fees. Every trade pays a priority fee and, if you use one, a bribe.

Step 4: Set priority fee, bribe and MEV protection

Axiom's Solana fees page explains each setting:

SettingWhat it doesAxiom default
Priority fee"An extra payment made to validators to increase the likelihood of a faster confirmation"0.001 SOL
BribeAn additional tip to validators to prioritize your transaction0.001 SOL
MEV protectionOff, Reduced or SecureSecure recommended
Auto feeAxiom calculates the recommended priority fee and bribe for youOptional

On MEV modes, the docs say Off leaves you exposed to front-running, Reduced routes through Jito but rogue validators may still create exposure, and Secure is "our best form of MEV protection", though it may be slower while it waits for a whitelisted validator. Axiom recommends Secure whenever possible.

The market order docs add that MEV protection "is only necessary for buy transactions and does not need to be enabled for selling on most tokens."

If you're new to these terms, read Solana priority fees and slippage explained and Solana MEV protection explained.

Step 5: Set slippage

Slippage is "the % amount of change in price you will allow to change while waiting for the transaction to confirm," per the market order docs. The fees page suggests raising it for volatile tokens to reduce failed trades, but keeping it low when you trade without MEV protection, because high slippage invites sandwich attacks.

Step 6: Find a token and buy

The market order docs describe the basic buy:

  1. "Paste the contract or type the ticker name in the search box."
  2. Enter the amount of SOL to spend.
  3. Click Buy for that token.

Search by contract address rather than ticker. Many tokens share the same name, and copycats are common. To find tokens, Axiom has the Pulse feed of new and migrating tokens. Before you buy anything new, run through how to spot a rug pull on Solana.

After buying, Axiom shows the SOL bought, sold and still held, and your profit or loss on that position.

Step 7: Sell, or use Instant Trade

The market order page focuses on buying. For selling, and for faster trading in general, Axiom's Instant Trade is "a popup next to your chart which allows you to buy and sell with one click of a button!" You can also turn on hotkeys, which use the spacebar plus another key to buy a set amount of SOL or sell a percentage of your holdings.

Hotkeys are fast, which also makes mistakes fast. Leave them off until you know the interface.

Step 8: Limit orders and migration actions

  • Limit orders: set a buy or sell price with the slider or by dragging the price line on the chart. The order runs when the market reaches your price.
  • Migration actions: buy or sell automatically when a token migrates from its launchpad to a DEX. See what is Pump.fun for how migration works.

Step 9: Take funds out

Axiom's docs don't include a step-by-step withdrawal guide for spot funds (the withdraw page covers perps). What the docs do provide is the backup route in Step 2: your recovery phrase works in a standard wallet like Phantom, so you can always reach the funds from outside Axiom.

Move profits out regularly to a wallet you keep separate from trading.

Keep your wallet safe

  • Treat the recovery phrase like cash. Anyone with it controls your funds. No real Axiom support staff will ask for it.
  • Secure your login. Your email, Google or Phantom sign-in is the door to your account. Use a strong password and 2FA.
  • Use a dedicated wallet. Don't use your long-term holdings wallet for trading. In February 2026, ZachXBT alleged an Axiom employee misused internal support tools to look up user wallet data (CoinDesk). Axiom removed that access. A separate wallet keeps your trading apart from your identity.
  • Check the URL every time. Don't click Axiom links from DMs, ads or replies.
  • Withdraw often. Platforms get hacked, sold or shut down.

What Axiom costs

Axiom's fee docs list a 1% base fee with volume cashback that lowers the net fee to between 0.95% (Wood tier) and 0.75% (Champion tier). Referred users get 10% off on top. You also pay the priority fee and bribe you set, plus any venue fee, such as Pump.fun's 1.25% on its bonding curve (Pump.fun). Full comparison: Solana trading bot fees compared. Is Axiom the right tool?

Axiom is our #1 pick on the home page. Our list order is an editors' order (usage, score and ease of starting), not sorted by score. Axiom has no native copy trading in its docs and no Telegram bot. If you want those, look at GMGN or Trojan, or read how to use Trojan bot. Our ranked Axiom alternatives compares every option.
