To use GMGN, start one of its official Telegram bots (such as @GMGN_sol_bot), send SOL to the wallet it creates, then send a token's contract address and choose Turbo or Anti-MEV to buy. GMGN's docs also suggest logging in to the web terminal at gmgn.ai with that Telegram wallet. This guide follows GMGN's official docs, checked September 26, 2026.
Risk notice: Crypto trading is high risk and memecoins can go to zero in minutes. Trading bots use hot wallets. This page is not financial advice; only trade what you can afford to lose.
For our full assessment, read the GMGN review (it scores 8.7/10), or compare GMGN vs Axiom and GMGN vs Trojan. We did not trade on GMGN for this guide; every step comes from the linked docs.
Before you start
- Use only the official bots. GMGN's Telegram bot docs list five official Solana bots (t.me/GMGN_sol_bot, t.me/US_GMGNBOT, t.me/GMGN_sol02_bot, t.me/GMGN_sol03_bot and t.me/GMGN_sol04_bot) and warn: "Any other bots are scammer bots which will drain your wallet."
- Turn on Telegram two-step verification. GMGN's safety page recommends it, along with hiding your phone number and limiting who can add you to groups.
- Remember that admins never DM first. GMGN's safety page: "The official admins will not send you a private message first!!!"
Step 1: Start the bot
Open @GMGN_sol_bot in Telegram and type /start. Per the docs, "the first time you use the bot, a solana wallet address is automatically generated." There is nothing else to set up.
GMGN's Quick Start also covers connecting a wallet or your Telegram account on the web terminal. It suggests logging in with the Telegram bot's wallet to use the more advanced web features.
Step 2: Understand the wallet before you deposit
Before you deposit, open the Wallet section of the bot. GMGN's Telegram wallet docs say: "For the safety of user wallet funds, GMGN all chains ( SOL chain / EVM chain / Tron chain ) are prohibited from exporting private keys," and wallets you import can't be exported either. The older bot page still mentions importing and exporting keys, so check your own wallet settings.
If export is blocked, you leave a GMGN wallet only by withdrawing, which needs 2FA and a whitelisted address. Keep the balance small. Never paste a key or seed phrase into a website, a "support" chat or another bot.
Step 3: Fund the wallet
Send SOL to the wallet address the bot shows. GMGN's failure guide recommends keeping at least 0.05 SOL in reserve so trades don't fail for lack of gas.
One quirk from the bot docs: a trade may settle in WSOL (wrapped SOL) instead of SOL. Use Exchange WSOL → SOL in the Wallet section to convert it back.
Step 4: Set slippage, priority fee and anti-MEV
GMGN's fees and settings page gives specific numbers:
| Setting | GMGN guidance |
|---|---|
| Slippage, auto buy/sell and pending orders | 30%-35% |
| Slippage, new and popular tokens | 50% or more |
| Priority + tip, normal trades | At least 0.002-0.005 SOL combined |
| Priority + tip, automated limit orders | 0.006 SOL or more |
| Priority + tip, maximum | 2 SOL |
| Anti-MEV | Needs a priority fee of at least 0.002 SOL |
The failure guide adds 0.01 SOL or more for trades above 1 SOL. In the bot, you can turn on autoslippage or set separate slippage for Turbo and Anti-MEV trades, and set separate buy and sell priority fees in Settings.
High slippage helps a trade fill but can cost you on thin tokens and makes sandwich attacks more profitable. Jupiter's support center notes that "unreasonably high slippage (>20%) led to sandwich attacks" (Jupiter). For the background, see Solana priority fees and slippage.
Step 5: Buy a token
Per the bot docs:
- Tap Buy/Sell and send the token's contract address.
- Choose Turbo ("swap quickly on chain") or Anti-MEV ("swap with anti-MEV RPC, the transaction speed is slightly slower").
- Pick a preset amount (set these in Settings) or enter a custom one.
Before buying, check GMGN's token security panel. Its CA security docs explain each flag, such as whether minting is disabled, whether a blacklist exists, how much liquidity is burnt and whether top-10 holders own more than 30%. GMGN notes the checks "are for reference only and cannot guarantee 100% accuracy." More in how to spot a rug pull on Solana.
Step 6: Sell
Use the same Buy/Sell menu, pick the token, and choose an amount or a percentage of your holdings. The same Turbo or Anti-MEV choice applies.
Step 7: Set auto sell (take profit and stop loss)
GMGN's auto sell docs work like this in Telegram:
- Send /start, then Setting → Auto sell (or send /autosell).
- Enter a stop loss as a negative percentage (for example −50%).
- Enter take-profit levels as positive percentages. The sell amounts across take-profit levels should add up to 100%.
Two warnings from the docs. Auto sell orders are valid for 24 hours. And they are "calculated separately for each purchase", not on your total position, so several buys of the same token can trigger several sell orders.
On the web terminal, the docs describe an Advanced Trading Strategy toggle where you click +add to create multiple TP/SL orders.
Step 8: Copy trading and smart money (optional)
GMGN is built around tracking "smart money" wallets. Its smart money docs cover following wallets and getting alerts, with a reminder to "carefully check contract safety before copying trades." The bot also has an automatic copy wallet function. Before copying anyone, read copy trading Solana wallets explained and our best Solana copy trading bot picks.
Step 9: Take funds out
GMGN's wallet docs say GMGN-generated keys can't be exported, so withdrawing is the way out; it requires 2FA and a whitelisted address. Move profits you're not actively trading to a separate wallet.
Keep your wallet safe
- Only GMGN's five official Solana bots. Fake bots with similar names drain wallets.
- Watch for phishing sites. In October 2025, attackers used a fake token website to trick about 107 GMGN users into authorizing transactions; GMGN said it compensated them (PANews).
- Revoke unknown approvals. GMGN's safety page: "What you see is what you sign."
- Don't interact with random airdrops. For unknown incoming transfers, GMGN says: "Don't be curious."
- If you're drained, GMGN points users to SlowMist's theft report form at aml.slowmist.com.

What GMGN costs
GMGN's docs state: "GMGN only charges a 1% handling fee for a single transaction, and there are no additional charges." Add network gas, your priority and tip fees, and launchpad fees such as Pump.fun's. Compare in Solana trading bot fees compared. Referral terms: GMGN referral code.
Where GMGN fits
GMGN ranks third on our home page. That list is an editors' order (usage, score and ease of starting), not sorted by score. If you trade only Solana and want lower net fees, compare Trojan and Axiom.
