To use FOMO, download the app from the official link on fomo.family, sign up with your email or Apple ID, turn on Face ID in Settings → Security, add funds, then open a token and tap the buy button. FOMO hides most technical settings, so the steps are short. This guide follows FOMO's own pages, checked September 26, 2026.

Risk notice: Crypto trading is high risk and memecoins can go to zero in minutes. Trading bots use hot wallets. This page is not financial advice; only trade what you can afford to lose.

For our full assessment, read the FOMO review (it scores 7.2/10) or compare FOMO vs Trojan and FOMO vs GMGN. We did not trade on FOMO for this guide. FOMO has no public docs site like the terminals do, so we used its app guide, security page, answers pages and terms. Where FOMO hasn't documented a step, we say so.

Before you start

  • Install from the official source. Use the App Store or Google Play link on fomo.family. Don't install from search ads or links in DMs. FOMO also has a web version at fomo.family.
  • Secure your email or Apple ID first. FOMO's terms say you are "solely responsible for safeguarding access" to your wallet, "including the email account, Apple ID, or other credentials used to secure or recover it."
  • Know the fee. TechCrunch reported a 0.5% fee with a $0.95 minimum per trade on Solana (TechCrunch). FOMO's terms say the fee is shown before you confirm each trade.

Step 1: Sign up

FOMO's app guide (December 2025) says: "Creating an account takes one click. Simply sign up with your Email address or Apple ID."

There is no seed phrase to write down. FOMO's terms say "Your Wallet is generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider." Its security page (March 2026) says your key is split into shares using Shamir's Secret Sharing and only reassembled inside secure hardware (trusted execution environments) when you sign a transaction.

Step 2: Turn on Face ID

FOMO's security page says Face ID can be required for opening the app, withdrawals and private key export. FOMO's announcement on X says to enable it in Settings → Security. That way, someone holding your unlocked phone still can't move funds or copy your key.

Step 3: Back up your private key

FOMO's terms say you can "view your Wallet's private keys and export your Wallet." Do this once, early, and store the key offline. If you ever lose access to your email or Apple ID, the key is your way back to the funds.

FOMO's advice: treat exported keys like bank passwords. Never paste the key into a website or send it to "support."

Step 4: Add funds

The app guide says you can buy "directly through Apple Pay (for select tokens only) or use the funds you deposited into your account." FOMO also publishes a deposits and withdrawals guide covering crypto, Apple Pay, debit cards and bank accounts.

Start with a small amount. Remember the $0.95 minimum on Solana reported by TechCrunch: on a $20 trade that is nearly 5%.

Step 5: Find a token

The app has five tabs, per the app guide:

  1. Home: browse assets with filters such as "verified", "trending" and "most held".
  2. Search: "You can search for anything on the fomo app from here."
  3. Social feed: "like your Twitter feed for crypto trading."
  4. Friends and leaderboard: top traders over different timeframes.
  5. Profile: your account and portfolio performance.

FOMO's slippage page says you can view "liquidity depth, trading volume, and holder count to gauge slippage risk before every trade." Thin liquidity means a worse price. Also run the checks in how to spot a rug pull on Solana.

Step 6: Buy

Per the app guide, open the asset and "click the button at the bottom," then pay with deposited funds or Apple Pay where available. Check the fee FOMO shows before you confirm.

FOMO's guides don't describe slippage, priority fee or MEV settings for users. The app handles these for you: TechCrunch reported that FOMO doesn't charge users gas, and FOMO's safety page says it routes orders through DFlow with MEV protection. For background on what those protections do, see Solana MEV protection explained.

Step 7: Sell

FOMO's published guides focus on buying and don't walk through selling step by step. Your holdings appear on your Profile tab. Check the fee and the price shown before confirming any sell. FOMO's terms say the fee is displayed before you confirm.

Step 8: Follow and copy traders

From the leaderboard, the app guide says you can "Click on the profile, Follow them, Check their trade history, Turn on notifications to know whenever they've placed a trade, DYOR and decide if you would like to copytrade them."

FOMO's copy trading page describes a notify-then-decide model: you "get instant notifications when they trade" and choose whether to act. By the time you act, the price has usually moved. Read copy trading Solana wallets explained before following anyone.

Step 9: Withdraw

The app guide says to "Withdraw by clicking on your cash balance on your profile page," with options for crypto, debit card or bank account. FOMO's withdrawal answer page says bank withdrawals arrive "within 3 business days", with weekends, holidays, first-time checks and larger amounts adding time.

If Face ID is on, you'll confirm with it. Test a small withdrawal early so you know the flow works.

Keep your wallet safe

FOMO's own security tips, plus a few of ours:

  • Protect the login. Use a strong, unique password and 2FA on the email or Apple ID tied to FOMO.
  • Keep Face ID on for app open, withdrawals and key export.
  • Watch for phishing. Fake FOMO sites and "support" DMs ask for your key or login.
  • Keep your phone updated and locked.
  • Keep balances small. FOMO is non-custodial, but it is still a hot wallet on your phone. Withdraw what you aren't trading.

What FOMO costs

FOMO doesn't publish a fee table on its site. TechCrunch reported 0.5% per trade, a $0.95 minimum on Solana, and no gas charged to users. The terms list 0.05% per transaction for perps and say you may also pay liquidity pool fees and price differences. See Solana trading bot fees compared.

Is FOMO right for you?

FOMO ranks second on our home page, which is an editors' order (usage, score and ease of starting), not sorted by score. It is the simplest option on a phone. If you want sniping, limit orders or detailed settings, look at Trojan or Axiom, or see best Solana trading app.
