The formula
The SOL that actually buys tokens is your buy minus the bot and DEX fees. At exit, that position is worth its size times the price change, and the same fees come out again on the sell. Priority fees are paid on both trades. So: SOL back = buy × (1 − fees) × price change × (1 − fees), and PnL = SOL back − buy − priority fees.
Why cheaper fees matter for active traders
One trade's fee looks small. Over hundreds of trades it adds up to a large share of your capital. Cashback programs and lower fee tiers make a real difference; compare them in Solana trading bot fees compared and the cheapest Solana trading bot. Frequently asked questions
How do fees affect memecoin profit?
Fees come out of the SOL you put in and the SOL you take out. With a 1% bot fee and a 1.25% Pump.fun fee, a round trip costs about 4.4% of the trade, so a coin that rises 4% still loses money.
What DEX fee should I enter?
1.25% for a coin still on the Pump.fun bonding curve. For graduated coins PumpSwap charges 0.30% to 1.25% depending on market cap; our Pump.fun fee calculator shows the tier. Other DEX pools set their own fee.
Does this include slippage?
No. Slippage and price impact depend on liquidity at the moment you trade and are often larger than fees on small coins.
Is this tax advice?
No. For taxes, cost basis rules differ from this simple PnL. See our guide to Solana memecoin taxes.
